What is going on?

I'm sure everyone has heard by now that Heath Ledger has died. I just read that it was not a suicide...but who really knows? No one. I'm still shocked and deeply saddened by this news. Even now as I'm typing this, I still can't believe this happened. He was so young and had his entire career ahead of him, it's a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family. I remember watching "10 Things I Hate About You" and falling in love with Heath. That smile...and accent...he was so dreamy! As I was reading articles about his death, I was listening to music and a song came on called "Waiting on an Angel" by Ben Harper. I seriously almost started crying. The lyrics are very appropriate so I thought I would share. RIP Heath. We will miss you!
Waiting on an angel
One to carry me home
Hope you come to see me soon
Cause I dont want to go alone
I dont want to go alone
Now angel wont you come by me
Angel hear my plea
Take my hand lift me up
So that I can fly with thee
So that I can fly with thee
And Im waiting on an angel
And I know it wont be long
To find myself a resting place
In my angels arms
In my angels arms
So speak kind to a stranger
Cause youll never know
It just might be an angel come
Knockin at your door
Knockin at your door
And Im waiting on an angel
And I know it wont be long
To find myself a resting place
In my angels arms
In my angels arms
Waiting on an angel
One to carry me home
Hope you come to see me soon
Cause I dont want to go alone
I dont want to go alone
Dont want to go
I dont want to go alone

If you want me satisfy me
Are you really here or am I dreaming
I can't tell dreams from truth
for it's been so long since I have seen you
I can hardly remember your face anymore
When I get really lonely
and the distance causes our silence
I think of you smiling
with pride in your eyes a lover that sighs
If you want me satisfy me, if you want me satisfy me
If you want me satisfy me, if you want me satisfy me
Are you really sure that you’d believe me
when others say I lie
I wonder if you could ever despise me
when you know I really try
to be a better one to satisfy you
For your everything to me
and I’ll do what you ask me
if you’ll let me be, free
If you want me satisfy me, if you want me satisfy me
If you want me satisfy me, if you want me satisfy me
If you want me satisfy me, if you want me satisfy me

Yay for contests

Kerry Butler, who plays Kira/Clio in the new musical Xanadu at the Helen Hayes Theatre, will release her debut solo recording later this year.
Butler's debut solo disc will be available in spring 2008 on the PS Classics label. Although the singing actress has already chosen her song list, one track will be handpicked by her fans via a contest on her official website.
The contest, which is now open, will run through Jan. 30, and Butler fans can enter by visiting www.kerrybutler.net. The person whose song is chosen will have the chance to attend the recording session of that song and will also receive an autographed copy of the disc when it is released.
In a statement, actress Butler said, "For a few years now I've been asked if I was ever going to record my own CD and I'm finally doing it with PS Classics. I am so excited about this project and wanted to do something unique - which was to throw it back to the people who have made suggestions in the past. So I decided I would leave one slot open after I chose the tracks that I just had to sing – and then let the listeners decide what that final song should be.
Butler will also perform at the Ossining Matters Spring Gala concert March 9 at 7:30 PM. The evening will be held at the Ossining High School Auditorium at 29 So. Highland Avenue in Ossining, NY. For tickets visit www.ossiningmatters.org.
Prior to Xanadu, Kerry Butler was most recently on Broadway as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. She portrayed Penny Pingleton in the original Broadway cast of Hairspray, and her other Broadway credits include Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Eponine in Les Misérables and Ms. Jones in Blood Brothers. Off-Broadway she was seen in Bat Boy The Musical, The "I" Word, Prodigal and The Folsom Head. She was also part of the cast of the new musical The Opposite of Sex, which premiered in San Francisco.
